Q |
What is the IRS Form 4506? |
A |
This is an IRS application that is used to retrieve copies or transcripts/schedules of past tax returns filed by the taxpayer.
|
Q |
How long does it take to retrieve the transcripts/schedules? |
A |
It will only take 24~48 business hours to receive the completed transcripts on all "non problem" orders. If an application is rejected for any reason, the IRS will notify Gemini, and in return we will notify you. So turn around time may be subject to change.

|

A |
Yes, but the IRS is allotted 20-60 days to receive the required data, process it and return it to you. We here at Gemini Tax are expeditors, we will deliver the transcripts electronically in only 1-2 business days. We value that "timing" is crucial in this industry.

Q |

|
Q |
How many years of tax period information can I request? |
A |
You may request the four prior tax years/periods.
|
Q |
I filed an extension and/or amendment this past year. How long does it take to return to the IRS's database? |
A |
It generally takes the IRS six (6) to eight (8) weeks to add new filings or corrections to their database.
|
Q |
What are some of the reasons "why" an IRS Form 4506 is "rejected" by the IRS and can not be processed in time? |
A |
The most common reason why the IRS will not process an order is that the address(es) do not match the tax year that is requested on the form. It is crucial that you put all previous address(es), where the taxpayer lived when they filed with the IRS, on line # 4 on the IRS Form 4506. Another common reason is that the form, signature, or date is illegible or altered in any way for the IRS to review.
|
Q |
If there is a problem with my order, how will I be notified? |
A |
An email will be sent to the person who placed the order stating the nature of the problem reported by the IRS. An alternative notification will be to call your office and speak to the contact directly.
|
Q |
How do I notify Gemini with the corrections? |
A |
Simply respond to the email and add the proper corrections, or call our office anytime and we will be more than happy to prompt you through it.
