I received my early training as an ad writer banging out copy on the keys of a beat up old IBM Selectric. It was a damn slow typewriter, but the deadlines were fierce and somehow the words would roll out day after day. And it was always something different!

One day I’d be churning out radio and TV scripts for United Telephone and the next day I’d be outlining a series of product brochures for Piper Aircraft or making an urgent deadline for a First Bankers or Southeast Bank ad campaign. It was hard, nerve-racking work and I loved every minute of it!

But that was back in the early eighties when three martini lunches and thick red steaks were an account executives idea of a healthy diet. But then, they didn’t have to come back to the agency and write the copy.

Times have changed --- coffee, power drinks and green tea have invaded the pantry.

I’m fortunate to have the natural ability to be just as comfortable writing business-to-business concepts for an aerospace manufacturer like - Allied Signal - as I am a business-to-consumer campaign for an upscale resort like Miami’s famed - Jockey Club or specialty marketing tools for a global player like Siemens.

I love to work with small start ups; assisting a “ma & pa” style business by becoming their graphic design and marketing partner working side-by-side in the creation of a company Website and everything advertising. As the Wordsmith at ARTISIAN DESIGNS it’s a challenge our team relishes. I say team because … you won’t find the letter I in team.
